You don’t need a three-fold manual to live in this world, consider Please Sit care instructions before directions of use.

What is on offer is the option—perhaps you sit? With no alternative in sight, a choice is hardly a choice.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING IS KIND OF VAGUE.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING KNOWS NO EXPIRATION.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING TAKES THE SCENIC ROUTE.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING IS A NEVER ENDING GESTURE.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING CAN COMFORT BUT WON’T TALK.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING WILL BE SIGNED AND NUMBERED.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING IS PRETTY BUT NOT WITHOUT REASON.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING IS A RERUN CAN YOU BELIEVE IT.

THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING DIVORCES FATE AND MARRIES WILL.

Please Sit for the Alternate Ending.

Extra,words about words.

"The Alternate Ending" became a Rubik's Cube of artist intents and show themes: digressions, detours on one side. Increasingly prevalent talk of end days, End of History, THE END.

A moment of mass inquiry on another– this was an era of revolt, designers’ dethroning the  efficiency-first, mass production ideas consuming the industry. ReFUSING design FORMALISM AND TRADITION. Calling for scrutiny of robotics, accelerated modes of production, in and out of the field.

Echoing the work, THE graphics included human slippages, second-tries, handwritten text: a maker's hand. Going macro on material, texture and ornate details, with mosaic / patchwork-like compositions.

Written manifesto style, the text tip toes to provoke, unapologetically challenging. Addressing the present in a mode not far from formal guidelines. Extracting words and ideas from early interviews with the artists to ensure fidelity to original intentions + ideas.
